Cio-Cio-San, a young Japanese girl, known as Butterfly, learns to trust and love an American naval officer, the reckless, pleasure-seeking B.F. Pinkerton. But when Pinkerton’s intentions are finally revealed, Butterfly’s dreams are destroyed in ways of no return.
