Join Kentucky Opera for an unforgettable evening celebrating the artistry behind the curtain and the remarkable legacy of Josette Miles, whose more than four decades of craftsmanship have helped bring countless productions to life.
As Josette celebrates her 90th birthday, we invite you to honor the woman whose creativity, talent, and dedication have shaped Kentucky Opera’s costume shop for generations. Costume Couture: Fête de Josette is a festive evening dedicated to the art of costume design, theatrical fashion, and the incredible hands that transform sketches into stage-worthy masterpieces.
Guests will enjoy an elegant evening featuring cocktails, a delicious buffet, entertainment, an exclusive look at Kentucky Opera’s extraordinary costume collection, and opportunities to celebrate one of our organization’s most treasured artists. Autioneer Kevin Harned from The Menish Group will call an exciting live auction with exclusive opera and travel experiences, and our silent auction will feature unique items and performances donated by our Kentuckiana community.

Proceeds from Costume Couture will help preserve and expand some of our organization’s greatest artistic assets. Funds raised will support the purchase of new costume shop software that will allow Kentucky Opera to digitally catalog and manage its extensive costume collection, creating new opportunities to rent costumes to other arts organizations while generating sustainable revenue. Your support will also provide essential materials and resources for the creation, maintenance, and restoration of costumes for upcoming productions, including our landmark 75th Anniversary Season.
