About Winnaretta Singer
Winnaretta Singer, Daughter of Isaac Singer, grew up with immense wealth, came of age in the Belle Epoque, and entered an unexpected lavender marriage that would pave the way to her becoming on of the greatest art patrons of all time.
Her salon saw premieres by Faure, Debussy, Ravel, Stravinsky, and more. She was neighbors with Cole Porter in Venice. Her generosity helped Marie Curie convert limousines into mobile radiology units during WWI. The incredible body of work that she helped usher into existence makes her one of the most consequential figures in 20th century composition.
