Kentucky Opera & Kentucky Science Center both LOVE the science of sound! That’s why we’re so excited to bring you The Science of Opera, an hour long interactive demonstration beginning at 5pm & 6pm on Saturday, July 30. Free with paid admission to Kentucky Science Center!

Join Kentucky Opera at the Kentucky Science Center for the Science of Opera as The Opera Singer, The Instrumentalist and, The Science Expert explore and demonstrate:

  • The physiology of the human voice – including the use of human skeleton molds and sing-a-long vocal exercises.
  • Tuning of instruments – including vibrato demonstrations and the use of tuning forks.
  • How sound waves travel – including the use of an oscilloscope.

All will culminate in a performance of your favorite opera and musical theatre numbers!
