“Planned Giving” is a term that refers to a variety of affordable ways in which long-time supporters, who are so important to Kentucky Opera, can ensure they continue to have an impact on the ongoing success and viability of the Company even after death.  And such gifts not only support Kentucky Opera, but they may also carry substantial tax, current income, and/or estate benefits as well.

Planned gifts to Kentucky Opera may be directed to the endowment or to the annual operating budget; they may be directed to a specific use or they may be given for general use; and there are a host of available giving and funding mechanisms that make it easy and affordable for anyone with any level of means to establish a planned gift.

Individuals and couples who have established planned gifts to Kentucky Opera are encouraged to contact Frances Skolnick, Kentucky Opera’s director of development, so that information on the gift and its intended use can be shared and then placed in the donor’s file.  And also because Kentucky Opera would like the opportunity to properly thank and recognize the donor(s) during his/her/their lifetime.  Kentucky Opera has established the Legacy Society for just this purpose: special events are held for Legacy Society members from time to time and, with permission, Legacy Society members are listed in a special recognition section of each Operabill,

To learn more about planned gifts or the Legacy Society, or to share information on your planned gift, contact Frances Skolnick at 502.561.7939 or at frances_skolnick@kyopera.org.
