Guiding Objective 1: Sustainability & Capacity

Ensure Kentucky Opera has the strong financial resource base required to support its ongoing artistic goals and operating needs.

Expand existing corporate and foundation partnerships, and aggressively secure new affiliations and new funding sources.

Implement an ongoing, comprehensive donor and audience cultivation program involving the entire staff and Board. Focus on both current and multi-year giving, as well as legacy opportunities.

Develop two or more new fundraising events.

Complete Phase One of the Artistic Excellence (Endowment) Campaign.

Recruit a Board and volunteer base that is engaged, highly supportive, influential, diverse, and actively involved in furthering Kentucky Opera’s mission.

Establish a system of ongoing financial and strategic planning to position Kentucky Opera favorably for interaction with funders and shifting market resources.

Guiding Objective 2: Reach & Impact

Substantially expand Kentucky Opera’s statewide and local area presence and secure the Company as the State Opera of Kentucky.

Focus growth of education and engagement initiatives on those with the greatest potential impact on underserved or at-risk populations, target areas of the State, opportunities for developing organizational partnerships, audience building, and enhancing interaction with new population segments.

Rebrand Kentucky Opera and create a comprehensive, strategic range of marketing, PR, digital, online, and media resources.

Pursue a wide array of collaborative efforts with other arts and cultural organizations statewide, including broadcast opportunities.
