Sandford Studio Artist Auditions:
The Sandford Studio Artists perform and cover MainStage roles, participate in community performances, and sing in the chorus. Applications for the 2019/20 season are currently closed. 2020/21 applications will open via YAP Tracker later in the year. Kentucky Opera will hold chorus auditions on March 23, 2019. These auditions are for consideration for chorus roles in Kentucky Opera’s Brown-Forman 2019/20 season production of Bizet’s Carmen (performances September 20 & 22, 2019) and Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro (performances February 14 & 16, 2020).
- Must be 18 or older and have transportation to and from the theatre.
- Be prepared to sing two pieces: One in English and one in either French and Italian. (Classical, musical theater, religious songs, art songs, and arias are all acceptable).
- Music for the pianist; an accompanist will be provided.
- Please bring an updated resume.
- No headshot is required.

Placement auditions for The Youth Opera Project will be held on Monday, August 19, 2019. Youth ages 8-18 will have the opportunity to participate in our youth opera Robin Hood, and additional performance opportunities. For more information, please visit Youth Opera Project.
Supernumeraries (or “Supers”) are non-speaking and non-singing roles. Supernumeraries are crucial components of opera, somewhat like an “extra” in a movie. These are volunteer positions, and needs vary each season. If you are interested in being a Super in our future productions, please contact email@example.com.
