Dear Kentucky Opera Family & Friends,

Kentucky Opera has been closely watching the situation with the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic in our region. We have been following recommendations from state and local officials, as well as the Center for Disease Control, to keep our staff, artists, and children safe during rehearsals for our upcoming performances of Robin Hood.

Due to these unusual and unpredictable circumstances, and out of an abundance of caution, we have made the decision to close our offices and postpone our performances of our youth opera Robin Hood. Our offices will be closed through March 23rd. Both performances of Robin Hood will be moved to matinée performances on May 9th and 10th.

We are aware that the risks are still very low, but we want to ensure the health and well-being of all involved in this upcoming production, as well as all of our patrons. These local youth have already put in much hard work rehearsing with their music and stage directors, and we look forward to sharing this moving and powerful youth opera with our community in May.

We hope you will still be able to join us on these dates. If you have a ticket for the Friday evening performance, your tickets will be moved to Saturday, May 9th at 2pm (matinee). Sunday tickets will now be honored on Sunday, May 10th at 2pm (matinee). If you would like to switch your tickets to an alternate date, please call the Kentucky Performing Arts box office at 502-584-4500. If you are unable to attend on these new dates, you may use the credit toward a future ticket purchase at Kentucky Opera or donate your tickets back as a tax-deductible donation.

We are sad to have to move these performances, but we appreciate your understanding as we seek to keep our community safe and healthy.
